Vespa - Acrylic on Canvas

Vespa - 40 x 50cm

I painted this from a photograph I found on the intertubes. I followed loosely the lessons I learned from Will Kemp of Will Kemp Art School. After having drawn a rough outline of the scooter, I painted in the darkest areas followed by the lightest ones. Because the body color is a nearly uniform red, I finished it in a matter of minutes. It took a few attempts to get the highlights right, but now I think I got it just about the way I envisioned.

Poles - Acrylic on Canvas

Poles 40 x 50cm

I painted this one after I've watched this lesson on Explore Acrylic Painting. I needed several attempts until I got the sparkles on the water somewhat right, and over-painted the picture at least 3 times. Anyway, it came out way better than I anticipated.

Jug - Acrylic on Canvas

Jug - 24 x 30 cm

This is my second still life painted after a lesson by Will Kemp of Will Kemp Art School. Although the jug is a bit odd-shaped at the top, I think I got the colors quite well, and so I am quite happy with the result.

Apple - Acrylic on Canvas

Apple 24 x 30 cm

This is the result of my following this lesson by Will Kemp of Will Kemp Art School. He's an award winning artist and a great tutor who offers several free instructional videos on his web site that are very easy to follow.

Never mind the image in the background (waves). That's a failed effort at painting another Bob Ross picture. I'll erase that.

Brook - Acrylic on Canvas

Brook (40 x 50cm)

This painting is a miserable rip-off of Bob Ross's fantastic painting Marshland (season 6 episode 12). His colors are much more brilliant than mine, though. Acrylic paints look rather dull when dry (Oh, that's a good one! I'll remember that when I mess up my next painting... :-)

Venice - Acrylic on Linen covered Cardboard

Venice (50 x 70 cm)

I painted this picture using the photograph shown below as a template. I wanted it to be a bit proto-expressionist, so all inaccuracies are on purpose :-) I test-framed it using a cheap "FISKBO" frame by IKEA, so it doesn't bend under its own weight.

I just noticed that I forgot several windows. Also, adding a few reflections might improve the overall appearance. Still, it could have turned out worse.

Flight across the Alps - Acrylic on Canvas

Flight across the Alps (40 x 50 cm)

Incomplete. There's an empty space on the lower right side of the painting (below the mountain peaks), where I might add a mountain lake (with reflections).
